Voices of Color Agenda: September 22nd 

Purpose: Build connection, share the state of the school, celebrate our community, align on communication, and highlight resources.

  1. Welcome & Purpose (5 min)
    • Introductions, norms (listen to understand, assume best intent/impact matters), meeting goals.
  2. State of the School Snapshot (10 min)
    • Enrollment & demographics, safety & climate highlights.

    • Current enrollment & student profile (who we serve). 944 total enrollment for 25-26, 6th grade 280, 7th grade 360, 8th grade 304
      Currently 95% daily attendance

    • UIP priorities: Disciplinary Literacy and Sense of Belonging (what success looks like this year).

    • Disciplinary Literacy: strengthening complex text comprehension, analysis, and content-specific language.

    • Sense of Belonging: increasing student connection to adults and community at school.

    • How we’ll measure progress (key indicators and timelines).

      • 24-25: School Performance Framework 81.2/100 points, showed improvement of 1.8 points.
        MLE, SPED and SOC are still showing opportunities for growth in both of our goal areas.

      • STAR, CMAS, Panorama, West Student Surveys, Attendance, Behavior Data from Powerschool and Daily Classroom level lead data measures and assessments.

  3. Celebrations & Bright Spots (10 min)
    • Student successes, Wildcat Challenge recap, staff/family shout-outs.
  4. Communication & How to Stay In the Loop (10 min)
    • Channels: Weekly WIP (staff), bi-weekly family newsletter, website

    • Bi- Weekly Community Communication (Blackboard) has been updated to streamline finding the weeks most important information for our building and the larger CCSD community, and provides an easy access to archived information from prior communications.

    • Need to Know -Updates provided to the community for any important information we need to get to families outside of our Bi-weekly communication

    • Feedback received on the updates to our communication strategies have been positive and we continue to revise and refine our process.

Accountability Meeting Agenda: September 22nd

Purpose: Partner with families and staff to review school progress, priorities, and resources,and gather input to strengthen West’s goals.

Welcome & Purpose

  • Community Connections
    • Goal is to increase engagement and connection as we move forward as a community.  Based on feedback from the community, community facing meetings will be scheduled back to back to work to improve engagement.  Two will take place during the day and two in the evening.  All dates have been shared to support early planning.

State of the School Snapshot

  • Current enrollment & student profile (who we serve). 944 total enrollment for 25-26, 6th grade 280, 7th grade 360, 8th grade 304

  • Climate & safety update (what’s going well, what we’re watching).
  • 1st semester Lockdown drill was a success, this provides students and staff an opportunity to practice and ask any questions to support the highest level of preparation.
  • Parking Lot- Drop off and Pick up Safety: THe community and students have adapted to our new drop off and pick up plans to support our highest safety need for students riding the bus.
