NO PARKING ON GREENRIDGE ROAD
Parents, we’ve been reminded by our neighbors that Greenridge Road east of South Holly Street is a private road. The property owners along the road have decided not to allow anyone to use their road unless they have legitimate “business” at one of the residences. The police department, the city, and the neighborhood association have all received complaints that parents have been parking on the road to wait and pick up their kids instead of pulling into the school’s parking lot.
The problem is that there is not a shoulder for this road, so when the parents park/stand they pull partially into the front yards for the various residents. This has caused a lot of damage to the sod.
A sign has been posted informing individuals that the road private and parking/standing are not allowed. The local residents have been working with the local police department in order to create a plan to enforce the trespassing ordinance on their behalf (since it is a private road it’s a trespassing violation instead of a parking violation). Greenwood Village PD will be working for a short period to educate parents before beginning with tickets.
As always, thanks for your understanding and cooperation!
